EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S. / B.A.) or equivalent in Aviation Management
  • 3 years of experience with air carrier quality and/or safety program management, Safety Management System (SMS) or Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Fatigue Part 117.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Five (5) years’ experience with air carrier quality and/or safety program management, Safety Management System (SMS), Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP), etc.
  • Airman Certificate: Commercial pilot, dispatch or Airframe and Powerplant (or comparable military experience).
  • Statistical background and good communications.
  • Understanding relevant 14CFR and FARs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, including overnight and weekend travel

Responsibilities

  • Maintains Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) agendas and supporting documentation.
  • Maintains Fatigue Program for Inflight and Pilots and assures accurate administration of program including regulation of Part 117
  • Serves as the focal point for safety information regarding the status of ASAP and Fatigue reports.
  • Maintains a database that tracks safety events and the analysis of those events.
  • Analyzes and investigates trends relative to ground and flight safety.
  • Acts as the liaison between the ERC and company departments for implementation for recommended changes and corrective actions.
  • Tracks the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions and provides progress updates at ERC and Fatigue meetings.
  • Provides feedback to submitters regarding the status of ASAP and Fatigue reports.
  • Produces and timely disseminates department deliverables i.e., newsletters, executive summaries, safety bulletins, etc.
  • Assists in the implementation of policies and procedures in accordance with company and industry guidance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
