The Sales Manager offers guidance and support with product selection, pricing, and forecasting, and assists in the overall alignment of the business with current and future agronomic trends and practices. Sales Managers also help with recruitment, training, and performance management of the field sales team. A Sample of What You'll Do in this Role: Offer business and agronomic support to the sales team with particular emphasis on less experienced salespeople and act as mentor in overall career development of new sales personnel. Establish measurable and challenging goals for sales personnel and conduct annual performance reviews. Suggest and coordinate effective sales training for skill development and growth. Establish and maintain a direct relationship with key customers in collaboration with the salesperson working directly with that customer. Identify potential new customers, devise and execute a sales plan. Provide guidance to the team on complaint handling and overall risk management. Be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and communication of the financial performance objectives for the region. Work with Operations Management and SMEs including fertilizer, value added nutrition, technology, branded products, seed, and plant protection products purchasing to maximize sales opportunities. Provide leadership in the forecasting process. What You Bring to this Role: At least five years of experience in the agriculture business with a demonstrated track record in sales and marketing or location management. Deep working knowledge of local agricultural crops and market practices. Provide clear direction and motivate individuals and teams. Strong customer service orientation. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agriculture or a Business-related field (preferred). Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
