Compensation: $70,000- $80,000

SUMMARY:

This role is responsible for ensuring 24/7 physical security, safety, and operational readiness for the Asia Society building (New York Headquarters), its occupants, and the Asia Society Museum Collection. This role requires effective leadership, collaboration, and technical expertise to uphold the highest standards of security and safety.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 to 6 years of law enforcement experience (preferred) or a high school diploma with 6 to 8 years of relevant experience
  • New York State Security Guard Certification
  • FDNY S-95 Certification
  • FDNY Fire Safety Director Certification (preferred)
  • FDNY Fire and Emergency Drill Conductor Certification (F-07 & W-07) (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and decision-making abilities
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Responsibilities:

  • Event Security Coordination: Collaborate with internal departments to determine and implement security needs for events.
  • Program Support: Remain available to work flexible hours during high-level programs or events.
  • Traffic and Access Control: Manage and monitor building traffic flow and access points.
  • Staff Supervision: Manage, schedule, and approve time-off and leave requests for security staff.
  • Operational Flexibility: Provide coverage for security staff during lunch breaks, vacations, and other absences.
  • Training Coordination: Schedule and oversee training sessions for security staff.
  • External Guard Management: Coordinate and schedule contracted security staff for galleries and special events.
  • Security Systems Oversight: Monitor, program, and maintain security systems, including CCTV, access control systems, and burglar alarms; investigate CCTV incidents and submit reports in a timely manner.
  • Agency Relations: Liaise with Federal, State, and City law enforcement agencies to maintain strong working relationships.
  • Incident Management: Review, document, and respond to incident reports; conduct investigations for emergencies such as fire alarms, bomb threats, or burglar alarms.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Plan and conduct fire drills and ensure adherence to all security, fire, and life safety protocols.
  • Onboarding Support: Orient new staff on building procedures, issue building access/ID cards, and maintain staff records.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
