The Manager, Single Line RFP & Proposals provides strategic insights and tactical execution of Single-Line RFP’s for the firm’s three legal departments: Intellectual Property, Business Law, and Litigation. This pivotal role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end proposal development process for various practice groups, ensuring all materials are compelling, strategically aligned, and executed with the highest level of quality and precision. This is a highly visible, hands-on, and results oriented position, offering close collaboration with senior leaders of the firm in pursuing revenue generating opportunities. Candidates should be experienced managers with strong project management skills who enjoy execution, can prioritize when working across multiple projects, and are driven to align firm capabilities with client needs to help attorneys proactively win work. The Proposal Manager will work closely with the Practice Group Chairs, lead partners, business development team, and the broader proposal team, utilizing their project management expertise and leadership skills to drive successful outcomes.This role is a direct report to the Director, Business Development & Marketing and dotted line report to the Senior Manager, RFPs & Proposals. Responsibilities Proposal Management & Development Ownership of the Single-Line RFP process and opportunities for the three Department’s Single-Line RFPs, from initial strategy and kick-off to drafting, review, production, and post-submission follow-up. Collaborate with attorneys, marketing staff, pricing personnel and other firm personnel in the evaluation, planning, development, and execution of RFPs, proposals, and presentations. Translate complex legal strategies and firm differentiators into clear, persuasive, and highly tailored proposal content. Acting as project lead for RFPs responses keeping both personnel and information organized. Lead Go/No-Go conversations with lawyers to determine if a Single-Line RFP should be pursued. Ensure strict adherence to brand standards, firm voice, legal compliance, and internal review protocols for all submitted materials. Maintain win/lose records for Single-Line RFP responses and analyze data to determine success rates. Project Leadership & Collaboration Apply advanced project management methodologies to define scope, set clear timelines, manage workflow, and coordinate contributions from multiple stakeholders (partners, finance, design, BD&M team members, etc.). Serve as the primary liaison and subject matter expert for Single-Line RFPs, working seamlessly with the larger BD&M team and firm-wide proposal team to share best practices and ensure resource alignment. Own and manage the practice group's proposal content library, ensuring boilerplates, case studies, biographies, and firm data are current, accurate, and readily accessible. Management & Mentorship Build trusted and productive relationships with attorneys and colleagues to develop and execute practice group plans and initiatives Identify and implement process efficiencies and best practices to streamline proposal development and enhance the quality of submissions within the practice group. Guide and train partners and legal professionals on effective proposal processes, content expectations, and best practices for participation. Qualifications Bachelor' Degree required. Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in proposal writing, management, or business development within a professional services environment; law firm experience is highly preferred. Demonstrated experience managing proposals for Litigation, Corporate, Intellectual Property, or Sector/Industry areas. Experience in a leadership, management, or mentorship capacity, demonstrating the ability to drive cross-functional projects and influence senior stakeholders. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously and ability to adapt to competing demands. Strong client service mindset and ability to establish and maintain effective direct working relationships with partners of the firm. Ability to adapt best practices to the unique aspects and staffing associated with specific RFP. In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The figures below represent the full compensation range of this position. The actual offered amount will be between the range minimum and midpoint based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley. Milwaukee - $113,500 to $170,300
