DESCRIPTION

The Storage SRE organization is seeking a strong engineering leader to manage Storage focused SRE teams, working closely with peer SRE teams and development partners. You’ll help build, optimize, and manage distributed Block Storage services that are foundational for running the various customer facing services at Apple. The scale of the service is immense, and as such you’ll be required to scale your technical & leadership skills to solve critical problems for the business.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in leading teams working on Software Engineering, or SRE.
• Strong background in distributed systems, block storage, and reliability engineering.
• Good understanding of Java, Golang and/or Rust programming languages.
• Collaborative skills and can do attitude in problem solving

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerization
• Familiarity with managing large fleets of bare metal servers.
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements in storage systems.
• Ability to motivate & lead teams that are spread across geographies.
• Familiar with agile planning & implementation.
• Strong communication skills to share ideas with a technical audience
