What You’ll Do In this pivotal leadership role, you will: Oversee day-to-day operations across MRI and partner modalities, ensuring high-quality imaging services and seamless team performance. Serve as a hands-on leader—supporting staff, stepping in as a technologist when needed, and modeling UPMC values in every interaction. Develop, interpret, and implement departmental policies, budgets, goals, and quality initiatives aligned with organizational strategy. Partner closely with the Radiology Director and Supervisors to build a cohesive, high-performing team culture. Lead protocol development, staff training, quality control initiatives, and process improvements across the division. Manage financial performance, staffing, job descriptions, evaluations, orientation, and ongoing professional development. Conduct staff meetings, oversee hiring and corrective action, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards including DOH and TJC. Maintain equipment quality, collaborate with vendors, and resolve operational issues with sound judgment and timely action. Ensure accuracy of charge processes, CPT compliance, and integrity of the modality’s Charge Description Master (CDM). Drive stellar patient satisfaction, efficient workflows, and consistent, high-quality imaging operations. Bachelor's Degree is required. 5 years of experience in a radiology discipline with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity required. MRI experience STRONGLY preferred. Completion of satisfactory formal training in a radiology related program accredited by the ARRT or NMTCB, i.e. Radiology or Nuclear Medicine. Must attend continuing education programs and maintain an active registry status. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Must possess a current Registry in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, or MRI (ARRT or RDMS), or NMTC or RVS.
