The Planning Land Use Strategy, Housing and Infrastructure (PLUSHI) teams are the driving force behind the Department's strategic planning, policy, rezoning, and infrastructure projects, all aimed at making New South Wales a better place to live. This role is focused on delivering place-based precinct planning outcomes that support urban renewal and transformation. It involves managing projects end-to-end—from shaping place strategies and preparing rezoning proposals, to coordinating budgets, consultants and stakeholder engagement—while providing clear, timely advice to leaders to help resolve complex cross-government planning and infrastructure challenges. You will be balancing competing priorities and stakeholder interests, and simplifying complex technical information into clear, accessible communication. It also involves preparing robust planning frameworks that respond to housing, employment, transport and environmental needs, while contributing to ongoing improvements in team processes, systems and ways of working. A degree in planning, urban design, environmental management or a related field is essential.
