QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Current Registered Nurse Division 1 registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA and/or
  • Certificate IV in Sterilising Services or equivalent
  • Extensive relevant clinical or leadership experience in acute care or Sterilising Services (or equivalent reprocessing environment)
  • Postgraduate qualifications in management or working towards an equivalent qualification
  • Current and satisfactory Police Check
  • Current and satisfactory Working With Children Check

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Sterilising Services Department Manager to lead our SSD team and drive operational, quality, and safety outcomes. The successful candidate will bring proven leadership in a clinical or technical environment, with the ability to manage a diverse workforce and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

The Manager will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the SSD across multiple sites
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, legislation, and accreditation requirements
  • Strengthening integration with theatre and procedural services to support patient flow and clinical outcomes
  • Leading staff development, education, and performance management
  • Managing financial, human, and material resources effectively and sustainably

We welcome applications from candidates with either a nursing background (Registered Nurse with relevant leadership experience) or sterilising services expertise (Certificate IV in Sterilising Services or equivalent), who are committed to driving excellence in reprocessing services.
