We are looking for a dedicated Manager in Strategic Initiatives to support Financial Crime Services to achieve our vision: “To relentlessly pursue the elimination of financial crime.” Financial Crime Operations (FCO) is accountable for the development, implementation and ongoing leadership of the Group’s financial crime operations shared service. FCO leads the Group’s approach to managing Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) and Sanctions risks and obligations through the provision of AML/CTF, KYC, Sanctions, ECDD and other operational services. The Role: You will be part of the FCO Strategic Initiatives & Governance (SIG) function, responsible for overseeing and enhancing the performance of FCO operational teams via strategic projects, workforce planning, capability, change, quality control as well as uplift across policy, process and risk. As a Manager in SIG function, you will support FCO by managing the delivery of policy change initiatives to ensure compliance to the ever-changing nature of financial crime policy, reduce manual processes, enable productivity, and improve the overall quality of FCO. Your efforts will directly contribute to enabling our operational teams to provide world-class prevention and detection of financial crime and safeguard the Group and wider community through our expertise, insights, and quality. This role currently has no direct reports. On any given day you will: Implement Financial Crime Policies: Partner with Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) teams to interpret new or updated policies and translate requirements into practical operational processes. Conduct gap analysis on current practices, identify and implement solutions, and ensure high-quality change management throughout the process. Drive Strategic Change & Transformation: Assess and deliver improvements to FCO processes, systems, and team knowledge—identifying automation opportunities and partnering with technology to implement effective solutions. Lead Projects & Stakeholder Management: Lead and be accountable for end-to-end delivery of initiatives from gap analysis to implementation using Agile or other frameworks. Maintain strong relationships across FCO, FCC, and wider Business Units to gain support for transformation. Regularly provide delivery status updates in key forums, keeping senior stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and mitigation strategies. Champion Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: Constructively challenge current practices, use data-driven insights to influence decisions, and deliver process improvements that enhance employee and customer experience while ensuring compliance. Support Training & Quality Assurance: Support the development of training materials, procedure or user guide documentation, and quality check and assurance processes to ensure consistent understanding and application of financial crime compliance requirements. We’re interested in hearing from people who: Bring proven subject matter expertise in Financial Crime. Have a track record of leading projects, improving processes, and driving change; (experience with Jira and Agile delivery will be highly regarded). Take initiative, break down complexity, and deliver practical solutions. Are self-starters—pragmatic, adaptable, curious, and eager to learn about new processes and policies. Have the confidence to ask questions and constructively challenge current ways of working to drive improvement. Communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, influencing decisions and outcomes.
