Responsible for overseeing the acquisition of goods and services, developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective, timely, and compliant procurement operations. The role requires strong strategic thinking, negotiation expertise, data-driven decision making, and leadership capabilities. Provide clear strategic and operational direction, ensuring each team member understands priorities, KPIs, and how their work contributes to company goals. Cascade business and procurement strategies into actionable team objectives and measurable performance targets. Lead the team to develop and implement cost‑effective procurement strategies. Analyze market trends to forecast future purchasing needs and identify cost‑saving opportunities. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures to ensure continuity of supply. Assess skills and competency gaps and develop structured development plans for team members Conduct regular coaching sessions and 1:1s. Provide structured, constructive feedback to reinforce strengths and address improvement areas with clear expectations and follow‑ups. Build strong, trust-based partnerships with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, EHS, HR, Leadership teams). Understand stakeholder needs, constraints, and strategic priorities to align procurement actions accordingly. Facilitate cross‑functional alignment for Procurement activities and objectives (RFQ/RFP activities, supplier qualification, SOW/contract reviews, cost reduction initiatives, etc.) Influence stakeholders to adopt best practices and data-driven decision-making in sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization. Provide solutions during supply disruptions, quality concerns, or urgent demand changes, engaging the right teams promptly. Uphold high standards of integrity, confidentiality, and compliance; ensure the team understands and abides by procurement policies and contractual obligations. Serve as a role model for ethical sourcing and responsible supplier management. Represent the procurement function in company meetings, supplier business reviews, management discussions, audits, and operational planning forums. Advocate for procurement’s strategic interests while supporting broader organizational goals. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and elevate procurement’s value proposition.
