Job Description
Since 2014, the YWCA Metro Vancouver has been offering the Strive program to assist youth in and from government care to successfully transition to independence. The program’s objective is to enhance participants’ life and employability skills through wraparound supports and services to achieve employment and/or further education. The program operates in cycles of 12 weeks, consisting of seven weeks of group, in-person workshops, followed by five weeks of one-to-one individualized support.
The program is funded by the Province of British Columbia Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills (PSFS).

Responsibilities
  • Providing the vision and execution of the program to meet the funding mandate and fulfill the goal of supporting youth to build stable and self-sufficient futures
  • Establishing and fostering effective relationships with local community partners to promote the program and recruit eligible participants.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the program to ensure smooth and efficient execution.
  • Monitoring and managing budget to ensure fiscal accountability while working within an outcome-based payment model.
  • Hiring, scheduling, and supervision of staff
  • Conducting performance reviews and performance management of staff
  • Conduct Client Intake Assessments, referring to appropriate wrap-around supports when necessary.
  • Create Individualized Training plans; regularly meet with team to conduct client case discussions.
  • Mitigating client complaints and liaising with senior management as necessary.
  • Overview of data input and accuracy and ongoing program development, evaluation and design.
  • Ensuring vendor invoices are coded, signed and sent to head office in a timely manner.
  • Keeping accurate records for funders, agency, business partners and participants.
  • Working with senior management to ensure program success and accountability.
  • Providing coverage for workshop facilitation and job development for program delivery.
  • Lead weekly Case Conferencing with program staff to discuss client and program issues.
  • Stay updated on labor market trends, job postings, employment issues, community resources, education planning, volunteer opportunities, and other relevant employment-related supports.
  • Ensure accurate and confidential maintenance of participant records in compliance with funder requirements.
  • Prepare and submit required reports on program results to the leadership and funder in a timely manner.
  • Special project contribution and other duties as assigned.
