JOB SUMMARY:

The Student Experience Manager advocates and coordinates AHU efforts to promote student success, persistence, and graduation, to achieve and sustain retention goals and graduation rates. The Student Experience Manager is the primary point of contact for an assigned group of students. This individual supports each assigned student by guiding their educational planning and progress, connecting them with resources that will maximize student success, proactively identifying and helping remove barriers, and responding to all types of issues identified by the student or by faculty that could impede student progress. The Student Experience Manager uses a high touch approach, maintaining a wide network of connections and collaborating flexibly with faculty and with other Student Experience Managers to ensure that each student’s experience is maximized in a positive way.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelors Degree or appropriate combination of experience and education in a related field and/or previous experience providing student support
  • 3-years in previous Higher Education Administration, Student Services, or Customer Relationship Management work experience
  • Proven ability to influence change, coach and motivate students and an understanding of the needs and challenges faced by adult learners
  • Ability to master comprehensive subject matter expertise about multiple AHU academic departments and programs
  • Track record that demonstrates service orientation and passion for serving students.
  • Ability to work effectively across teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Work effectively in a very fast paced changing environment
  • Innovative and self-starter

Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain strong student rapport encompassing AdventHealth Service Standards by providing regular communication through email, text, and/or phone to students throughout their academic journey.
  • Serve as an immediate source of support for students, analyzing barriers, determining solutions, and coordinating interventions and processes for students.
  • Using a high level of discretion and independent judgment, continuously evaluates the academic and financial plans throughout the student life cycle and makes appropriate adjustments to ensure successful student outcomes.
  • Coordinates and administers program activities and student support to enrolled and prospective students, such as course registration, graduation processing, petitioning, withdrawals, program documentation, computer accounts, information sessions, receptions, and student orientation.
  • Ensure new students are oriented to university policies and services.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to students with special attention those that run into obstacles on their path to degree, helping them assess and plan for the way forward and taking proactive measures to ensure prompt resolution of any potential obstacles.
  • Learn the details of courses, career paths, case examples and faculty specialties so that a knowledge base of university courses can be built and used in student interaction.
  • Monitor course attendance, academic and enrollment progress of students to ensure they are making satisfactory progress and to support the retention of students.
