Description:

Manager, Supply Chain
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager to join our Supply Chain team in Durham. As the Manager of the Supply Chain department, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of vendor management, procurement, and inventory management. Your exceptional leadership skills and consistent track record in supply chain management will ensure flawless execution and extraordinary service to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the overall supply chain function, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of purchase orders to meet inventory and customer requirements.
  • Develop inventory management strategies to improve service to customers and reduce the risk of obsolete and expired inventory.
  • Collaborate with the Transportation Team to develop transportation strategies and evaluate their execution and efficiency.
  • Supervise the Global Trade Compliance Specialist to ensure compliance with global trade regulations.
  • Support the product management team in evaluating suppliers and contracts for long-term partnerships.

Support of PCS Service Excellence to Customers:

  • Resolve pending issues with vendors to support customer order fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with various departments to provide outstanding service to customers.
  • Provide input to the sales and marketing department to support profitability analysis and identify new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Business Technology staff to find areas for process improvement.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Track and analyze key performance indicators to measure supply chain performance and implement improvements.
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or inventory management.
  • 3+ years of experience leading supply chain or inventory management teams.
  • Experience with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities and lead improvement projects.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with other functional teams.
  • Strong leadership and effective business partnering capabilities.
  • Excellent negotiating and presenting skills.
  • Ability to make decisions based on potentially incomplete information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
  • Six Sigma Certification or Project Management Professional (PMP).
