Currently, Bissell Centre is looking for an individual wanting to join our Supportive Housing team. Are you ready to be our Manager, Supportive Housing and Homelessness Prevention and make an impact in our community?

GENERAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Ensure accurate case management notes, written file notes, program information, statistics and critical incident reports are completed for all program streams.
  • Update job descriptions, program operating policies and procedures as required.
  • Submit quarterly and annual program reports inclusive of outputs, outcomes, program highlights, stories and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Attend Management Team meetings to address organizational issues and collaborate on organizational initiatives.
  • Attend meetings as required by funders.
  • Perform other duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in a related field or a combination of experience, skills and training will be considered.
  • Minimum of three years supervisory experience.
  • Extensive relevant employment experience including program development, case management, case supervision, evaluation and supervisory skills.
  • Knowledge and experience working in the areas of; Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Trauma Informed, Homelessness, Harm Reduction, Addictions, Housing First, and Mental Health is an asset.
  • Evidence of innovation and creativity in supporting individuals would be an asset.
  • Employees with Social Work Diploma/Degree/Masters are required to provide and maintain ongoing registration, in good standing, with Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW) as per Alberta Health Professions Act.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

The Manager, Supportive Housing and Homelessness Prevention, provides leadership, strategic oversight, and operational management to both the Hope Terrace (Supportive Housing) and Homelessness Prevention programs, including the Community Bridge and Supported Referral initiatives. This position ensures high-quality, person-centered service delivery for individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness, with a focus on trauma-informed, Indigenous worldviews and Housing First principles. This role includes direct management of the Hope Terrace site operations, oversight of program development, evaluation, team supervision and leading homelessness prevention strategies and services based in the agency’s low-barrier Service Hub.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and evaluate program delivery, fidelity, and outcomes.
  • Develop and implement annual operational plans for both supportive housing and homelessness prevention programs.
  • Ensure compliance with funder agreements and reporting requirements.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and interdependence across departments.
  • Maintain current knowledge of FASD, trauma-informed care, and emerging trends in housing and homelessness.
  • Coordinate and/or support development of proposals for new or continued funding.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff including Team Leads, Case Managers and Support Workers.
  • Support day-to-day supervision of both housing and prevention teams.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and crisis debriefing.
  • Facilitate team meetings and bi-weekly supervisions.
  • Uphold practices that are inclusive, culturally safe, and responsive to the needs of vulnerable populations.
  • Oversee administrative practices including accurate case notes, critical incident reports, and program data tracking.
  • Maintain community relationships with neighbours, partners and stakeholders.
  • Represent the agency in coalitions and collaborative initiatives (e.g. EFAN, Homeward Trust).
