I n a rapidly evolving commercial real estate landscape, we are raising the bar in sustainability, harnessing technology and delivering impactful, scalable solutions. We are looking for a Manager, Sustainability for the Canadian Business, a role essential to strengthening our sustainability strategy and driving measurable performance. Reporting to the Director of Sustainability, Canada, this position will focus on enhancing operational capabilities and spearheading initiatives that redefine best practices in our industry. We need a driven leader with a balance of strategic insight and hands-on operational expertise, ready to engage cross-functional teams and shape an innovative sustainability practice that delivers high returns and positive impact.
Responsibilities:
AS A MEMBER OF THE TEAM, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Lead Sustainability Reporting for Canadian Office, Retail, and Residential operations, ensuring data completeness and accuracy, detailed documentation and process adherence, and timely report-submissions to uphold high standards for all mandatory and regulatory reporting needs.
Develop and Integrate Sustainability Processes and Tools that translate corporate target into site actions and identify site-specific opportunities for improvement and monitor throughout the year. Coordinate with third-party consultants to elevate program delivery and support site-level execution as needed.
Champion Green Building Certifications across the portfolio, including but not limited to BOMA, LEED, ZCB, and WELL HSR by managing and/or supporting certification or renewal process, identifying opportunities to improve sustainability performance and developing trainings for internal teams.
Establish and Track ESG Standards across Canadian assets, guiding Retail, Office, and Residential sites in implementing and advancing sustainability programs, with clear metrics and ongoing monitoring and reporting.
Act as a subject matter expert to enhance Sustainability knowledge building and performance improvement. Prepare and present both internal and external materials that highlight our sustainability initiatives and as needed.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, YOU HAVE:
5-10 years’ experience in ESG/Sustainability within commercial real estate or consulting, with a solid grasp of industry-specific sustainability concepts and practices.
Proven expertise in ESG reporting, including GRESB, corporate sustainability report and mandatory disclosures, and Green Building Certifications (e.g., BOMA, LEED, ZCB, WELL).
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey insights clearly across various levels and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI) for data modeling and visualization, and familiarity with cloud-based ESG reporting software.
Detail-oriented and accountable, with a commitment to accuracy, timeliness, and taking pride in deliverables.
Solution-oriented and proactive, adept at anticipating and resolving complex issues, with an ability to independently manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
Team-focused and results-driven, bringing enthusiasm, a collaborative spirit, and a dedication to continuous improvement.
Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, engineering, or a related field preferred.
