ABOUT THE ROLE

Eavor Technologies Inc. is seeking an experienced Manager, Tax to join our growing finance team. This is a pivotal role in the finance team to support Eavor’s mission to revolutionize geothermal energy with the world’s first closed-loop geothermal system. This is a hybrid role based in Calgary, Alberta, with potential limited travel as required by business needs.

SOME OF WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Tax Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international tax laws
  • Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, statements, and disclosures
  • Develop internal systems to monitor compliance with tax regulations

Tax planning

  • Analyze corporate financial statements, Understand the implications of business transactions on tax outcomes, and Develop and implement tax strategies.

Tax reporting

  • Ensure accurate and timely tax reporting
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Provide tax planning advice to clients and other stakeholders

Tax audits

  • Ensure compliance with tax governance policies and procedures
  • Manage tax audits and inquiries

Tax risks

  • Identify and mitigate tax risks
  • Assess tax risks and implement controls to mitigate tax-related risks
  • Research tax planning opportunities, tax law change and perform tax due diligence on acquisitions including financial analysis and presentation of recommendations working with finance team as well as coordinating outside professional service providers
  • Develop and implement international and domestic tax strategies to minimize the company’s tax liability while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and address tax implications related to business expansion, acquisitions, and restructuring activities.
  • Prepare and review tax provisions, tax returns, and related documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Responsible for the preparation, analysis and filing for all corporation and commodity tax returns.
  • Coordinate and review filings for all corporation and commodity tax returns.
  • Manage requests from tax authorities as well as requests from internal and external auditors.
  • Assist with tax modelling and partner proactively with external tax advisors to identify opportunities to minimize corporate taxes, indirect taxes, and recommend best practices.
  • Prepare month end tax provisions and calculate any installment payments that are due.
