SUMMARY OF JOB:

The role of the Assistant Manager is to ensure the successful running of all retail operations alongside, and in the absence of, the General Manager. She/he will be a vital member of a management team that strives to uphold the highest standards of customer service, product quality, operational excellence, and visual merchandising. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for running efficient and profitable operations of The Scottish Highland Creamery, with the goal of providing customers with excellent, quality products and fast, friendly service. He/she with be expected to have significant product knowledge, demonstrate expertise in all aspects of the store’s operations, and ensure consistent staff performance. The ideal candidate will have a passion for people and for our product, and will exhibit the qualities of a mature, positive, and motivated leader. This individual must be reliable, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year retail management experience, preferably with a specialty food business and/or coffee store.
  • Knowledge of food/kitchen safety and cleaning preferred
  • Prior management experience in a specialty store or food establishment preferred.
  • Register and cash handling experience.
  • Proficient on a computer; familiar with software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Must be flexible, able to work overtime, including weekends, evenings, summer holiday weekends and special events as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs
  • Must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
