As a Manager – Transaction Monitoring & Analytics, you’ll play a key role in enhancing Westpac’s financial crime detection capability through advanced analytics, modelling, and continuous optimisation of transaction monitoring (TM) systems. You’ll contribute to the development, validation, and uplift of TM models and detection rules, working closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into effective, risk‑based analytics solutions. This role blends hands‑on analytical work with collaboration and knowledge‑sharing, helping drive innovation, improve model performance, and strengthen financial crime outcomes. You’ll deliver outcomes safely by ensuring models are well‑governed and effective, make an impact by improving detection quality and efficiency, and own your contributions end‑to‑end within a highly collaborative team environment. This is a permanent, full‑time role based in Sydney or Melbourne, operating under a hybrid working model (two days per week in the office). What do I need? * Experience in analytical modelling, including development and/or validation of statistical or machine‑learning models * Strong understanding of model governance, assumptions, performance metrics, and explainability * Advanced programming and data analytics skills, particularly using SQL, SAS, and Teradata * Experience applying analytics and modelling outputs to business decision‑making * Knowledge of financial crime, transaction monitoring, or risk management within financial services * Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative, solution‑focused mindset Our Promise to you.
