Description

Analyze and support Trade Compliance programs to conform to governmental laws and regulations, as well as international requirements.
Conduct internal audits for import and export operations in Europe region (coordinating similar taks for MEA region). Provide subject matter expertise for product classification.
Oversee customs brokers and export agents and in-house brokerage activities. Communicate with Customs, Export authorities and other government agencies.
Provide operational direction to comply with regulations and company processes.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

General knowledge of Import and Export Compliance, Customs, Supply Chain, Trade Business Processe

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Logistics or equivalent years of experience within these functional areas are preferred.
  • Formal Import and Export Compliance trainings and certifications are preferred.
  • Broker Certification (Declarant) preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbal and written form.
  • Effective at working in team situations.
  • Must be able to perform variety of tasks with minimal direction.
  • Knowledge about Dual Use regulations, 2021/821
  • Knowledge about Internal Compliance Program ICP (Netherlands, Germany)
  • GTS/SAP knowledge is a preferenc
Responsibilities
  • Lead all Trade Compliance and operational efforts to ensure all import/export transactions are executed in accordance with Customs regulations
  • Primary point of contact with Customs or Other Governmental Agencies (incl Chambers/Trade Associations) to address any audits, inspections or regulation changes.
  • Manages the relationships and agreements with third parties including Customs Brokers and other third parties involved in the import and export process.
  • Support local and EMEA business on customs and trade issues / opportunities.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee the company’s import & export control compliance program, ensuring adherence to EU, UK and global regulations.
  • Create and maintain import & export control policies, procedures, facilitating compliance across all levels and multi-country requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with the Taric System, ECCN codes, Dual Use classification, licensing requirements and licensing applications (Netherlands and Germany).
  • Stay updated on changes to compliance laws and regulations, work with the global team to ensure changes are communicated to management and ensure the compliance program takes into account changes.
  • Act as the Compliance SME during external or internal audits
  • Analyze and research data from official sources in order to determine proper product classifications to include HTS (taric), ECCN, and license requirements. Lead the review process to obtain necessary information from engineering, procurement, and product line management groups.
  • Complete Import/Export audits, analyze data and report unconformities. Establish procedures and systems to ensure that all shipments meet requirements of Customs in several EMEA locations.
  • Act as a lead for import and export operations, provide daily guidance and support. Oversee preparation and audit of commercial documentation for international orders worldwide.
  • Provide training and daily support to international customer service, sales, purchasing, and product line management teams to ensure compliance with regulations. Organize formal Import trainings and seminars.
  • Manage the application, renewal, and maintenance of import & export licenses, ensuring timely submission and approval.
