Description SUMMARY/POSITION OVERVIEW Traffic is critical to the success of the company as it oversees revenue dollars by managing and scheduling programming, commercial, promotional inventory and secondary events for our “on-air” broadcasts of INSP and client networks. The estimated revenue dollars associated with Traffic is in excess of $110 million. The Manager of this department oversees the Traffic staff (2 FTEs) and manages and monitors the day-to-day operations. This position is responsible for the prompt and accurate execution of broadcast logs for our INSP Network. The manager assumes a management role within our Network Operations and consistently looks to streamline processes and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the Traffic department. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Lead, develop and improve the Traffic team’s departmental effectiveness and efficiency based on structure, processes and traffic system (Wide Orbit). Manage commercial inventory to maximize revenue opportunities, working closely with Sales counterparts to identify available inventory, resolve conflicts, and revenue growth. Build strong relationships with our Partners and Clients throughout the organization to ensure all traffic initiatives are aligned and successful in their implementation. Review and evaluate Traffic department staff and, with the Director of Traffic, deploy their resources effectively and efficiently supporting the operations of INSP Network. Assist the Director of Traffic in managing the traffic system (Wide Orbit) to ensure organizational and operational requirements are met and maintained. This includes the implementation of new software upgrades, and associated data is secure and accessible. Work as a team member within our Network Operations areas to ensure the structure and support for Master Control/Media Center, Network Services, Digital Technologies and Traffic are aligned. ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Commercial/Paid Programming Copy and Scheduling: Oversee the receipt, review and implementation of all commercial/Paid Programming instructions and revisions. Ensure that all commercial, promotional, paid programming, and secondary events are scheduled accurately into Wide Orbit (Traffic system). Create dub lists for Media Center. Log and Inventory Management: Optimize commercial placement based on revenue priority, contractual obligations, and separation requirements. Review log variance reports for accurate advertiser and product separation. Ensure broadcast logs (digital files) are delivered to NOC and provide directions if/when needed to the Operations staff during off hours. Identify content to be restored/purged from operational archives and create extend/restore reports for Media Center for upcoming broadcast needs. Manage program transactions between our traffic system (Wide Orbit) and Programming software (SIMS). Ensure the accuracy and architecture of the program formats from data provided by our partners and clients outlining the content/sales/promo/graphics and other key information for the successful playout for the INSP network. Client Service: Communicate with Sales Ops team, Acct Execs and Ad Agencies to resolve issues. Identify additional revenue opportunities and ensure client satisfaction. Maintain strong working relationships with Programming, Promotions, Sales, Media Center and Master Control. Communicate scheduling errors and potential risk to clients and partners allowing for adjustments prior/post broadcast. Research agency and client inquiries regarding potential issues that may have occurred. Provide immediate communication to the Director of Traffic regarding such issues. Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum eight years’ experience in a national cable network Traffic environment Must be detail oriented, committed to quality work product and well organized Excellent communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency with Wide Orbit Traffic System or similar national network traffic system Strong team builder and coach Self-starter who is reliable, professional and dependable Independent worker with excellent ability to multi-task Team player to participate and support needs of entire team Able to learn quickly and willingness to be part of a dynamic team Desire to contribute and make an impact on process, people and organization Able to express, present and embrace new ideas Proficiency with MS Office 365.
