About the Role:
The Specialty Lines of Everest Insurance, is looking for a UW Services Manager to join our Warren, New Jersey or New York City office.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • You will lead a team of approximately 9 Underwriting Assistants who provide support on Alternative Solutions, Credit & Political Risk, Private Equity, and Surety to both internal and external customers.
  • You will leverage data to drive the day-to-day production of all tasks assigned to your team, including Ratings, Policy Issuance, and Mid-term Endorsements. You will reprioritize and/or reassign work as needed to ensure established SLAs are consistently achieved.
  • You will utilize continuous improvement methodology to identify root causes, problem-solve, and drive process improvement opportunities when warranted.
  • You will develop and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including proactive and transparent communication regarding performance metrics and team execution.
  • You will oversee responses to Quality Audits within your group and proactively monitor your team to ensure readiness to execute against audit criteria.
  • You will be accountable for Change Management, following through on key initiatives and priorities. This includes contributing to technology advances and new system functionality or enhancements that impact workflow execution.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring staff meet core competencies and skills needed to deliver quality service.
  • You will ensure training materials are developed and implemented, and that your staff are properly trained to support the delivery of products and services.
  • You will develop and implement streamlined workflow procedures, process improvements, and enhancements to ensure service level agreements are consistently met.
  • You will be responsible for all aspects of supervision, including hiring, leading, coaching, developing, and managing staff to achieve performance goals and service metrics with guidance from management.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • You have at least 2 years of prior supervisory and/or operational experience.
  • You are proficient in MS Office, with exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas for data cleansing and analysis.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • You have knowledge of the Financial and/or Specialty Lines commercial insurance policy life cycle, terminology, and processing procedures.

Analytical Skills:

  • You have strong problem-solving and analytical skills, along with solid mathematical aptitude.
  • You can use data analytics to think strategically, improve processes, and make appropriate correlations on results using various tools and applications.

Leadership Skills:

  • You are an excellent coach and communicator (verbal, written, and interpersonal).
  • You demonstrate strong negotiation, decision-making, accountability, and leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff.

Customer Service Skills:

  • You are customer-focused and provide excellent service.
  • You are results-oriented, with the ability to manage expectations for delivering tasks and assignments.
  • You are flexible, adaptable to change, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, results-driven, service-oriented environment.

Compensation & Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $88,000 – $121,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on your education, experience, qualifications, and work location.
