Description

· Human Service related degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience
· Group facilitation experience in both traditional First Nations approaches and mainstream approaches.
· Excellent understanding best practices in regards to addictions and trauma.
· Excellent communication skills and cross cultural communication experience.
· Two years’ recent experience working with diverse clients with mental health issues and social barriers or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
· Experience in direct service, community-based mental health delivery systems and experience working with Aboriginal people.
· Valid BC driver’s licence and reliable vehicle (with business insurance)
· Criminal record check (including vulnerable sectors check)
· 5-8 years minimum in a supervisory role
· general understanding and experience in human resources, leading and guiding staff, program management.
· Provide crisis intervention support including suicide and harm reduction.
· Demonstrated ability to use mediation, conflict resolution and counselling skills
· Comprehensive knowledge of other health disciplines and their role in client care
· Good working knowledge of clinic office routines, health system issues, primary care models, community health care resources, extended stakeholders
· Working knowledge of the Labour Standards and BC Labour Standards

· Respect for and knowledge of Ktunaxa and Aboriginal culture, traditions and heritage; awareness and sensitivity
· Filing and records management
· Flexible; able to work evenings and weekends (required)
