POSITION SUMMARY
This position oversees the accounting and reporting for commercial and regulatory accounting activities and supervises accounting staff. This includes the settlement, accounting, regulatory deferral, recovery and reporting for fuel commodity procurement and transport, purchase power transactions, trading, and rate case activities. The position reviews new transactions and business opportunities related to Commercial Operations and Regulatory activities to ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory guidelines, and the proper implementation of any new procedures or systems required to support the new initiatives. The position participates extensively in regulatory proceedings and works closely with senior management in the implementation of regulatory and operational strategies/directives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Business, Accounting or Finance and minimum 7 years accounting experience.
- CPA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
- Must have exposure/experience in accounting for at least one of the following areas: energy transactions, trading transactions, or accounting in a regulated environment.
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in a managerial accounting role.
- Must have advanced system skills, ability to lead and direct others, excellent analytic and problem solving skills and experience in general ledger closings.
- Must be able to demonstrate an overall understanding of financial and physical energy markets and be able to thoroughly analyze gross margins.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and meet strict deadlines. Requires occasional travel and extended work hours.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $109,500.00 to $155,500.00 per year
