As we grow and evolve, we’re looking for a Manager, UX Design to join our fully remote design team and help us shape the future of Plex. This is a key leadership role reporting to the VP of Product Design. You’ll balance strategic thinking with hands-on design work, helping elevate our UX/UI craft across web, mobile, and TV platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a small, talented team of designers—helping them level up their skills in visual design, interaction design, strategic thinking, and collaboration.
  • Drive the evolution of Plex’s design system and UI standards, ensuring high-quality, accessible, and brand-consistent experiences across platforms.
  • Influence product design efforts from early discovery to final delivery, establishing a clear design vision that aligns with product and business goals.
  • Design and ship experiences that feel polished, consistent, and thoughtful—sweating the details while keeping the bigger picture in focus.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, and marketing to ensure a cohesive user journey across all surfaces—TV, mobile, and web.
  • Consult with internal and external teams on mobile design standards, ensuring all Plex experiences maintain quality and consistency regardless of where they originate.
  • Stay up-to-date on mobile trends, platform guidelines, and emerging interaction patterns—bringing that knowledge back to the team and applying it to our evolving design approach.
  • Champion user-first thinking, designing contextual, community-driven experiences with personalized insights, recommendations, and guidance.
  • Help foster a healthy async-first team culture while also leading dedicated design rituals like critiques, reviews, and planning.
  • Partner with our UX Research team to connect research insights to design work and product direction.
