POSITION PURPOSE To develop, drive and deliver reimbursement strategies and solutions for pipeline and existing products within the cardiometabolic health business unit. To develop national reimbursement dossiers (PBAC/MSAC and PTAC), and to manage the pricing submissions following PBAC/PTAC recommendations. To provide health economics expertise on expanded access solutions. To engage with key internal and external stakeholders, and to lead cross-functional teams in the development and submission of reimbursement dossiers. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop PRA strategies and plans for pipeline and existing products within a business unit portfolio, with the goal of broad and diverse market access Develop innovative access solutions, and make recommendations to local, regional and global lead teams on the optimal PRA strategy for the portfolio Identify any gaps, risks and possible solutions for the execution of the proposed PRA strategies Lead cross-functional teams in the development and delivery of the various access solutions Identify access environment shaping needs, and work with the public affairs team on the joint delivery of the environment shaping activities Lead cross functional teams in the development and submission of reimbursement dossiers to PBAC/MSAC and PTAC, and in the consultation and post-decision phases of the reimbursement process Act as a project manager for sourcing clinical and economic inputs required for submission dossiers Develop cost-minimisation models and analyse cost-utility models Write some or all sections of HTA submissions In conjunction with the pricing and analytics lead, develop business cases for internal pricing approvals Act as a PRA therapeutic area lead and manage the affiliate relationship with regional and global PRA/Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR) colleagues Work with Key Account Managers to develop regional and local level market access materials Maintain up to date knowledge of HTA processes and criteria, and the broader access environment Contribute as a constructive member of Brand, Value Access and Public Affairs (VAPA) and Value and Access Teams It is expected that the successful candidate will lead cross-functional working groups when developing and executing PRA strategies for new products and indications. The role may also include coaching/mentoring of Value and Access team members. ENVIRONMENT & POSITION CHALLENGES Gaining PBS listing to new medicines and new indications continues to evolve and increase in complexity. Timely access hinges on the ability to identify and execute novel and innovative reimbursement and broader access strategies. Success in this role requires innovative thinking and creative ideas, and a willingness to push boundaries. It requires the ability to analyse and interpret clinical and economic data and link payer insights to reimbursement and access opportunities. It also requires the ability to develop strong relationships with local, global and regional colleagues and external stakeholders.
