Responsibilities
  1. Initiate, develop and implement operational emergency management and training initiatives.
  2. Support the Heads of Division and the Leadership Group regarding operational emergency and WHS related risks.
  3. Develop and implement the department’s emergency management and WHS management system and provide
    continual improvement of compliance requirements as prescribed by WHS legislation.
  4. Coordinate the distribution of WHS information and promotional material at departmental locations.
  5. Build and maintain relationships and ongoing liaison with the WHS Management Committee members and other
    stakeholders.
  6. Analyse health and safety incident data and provide regular reporting to the departmental senior management and the
    WHS Management Committee.
  7. Provide expert advice and support on:
    o WHS maters to managers and staff to support the achievement of strategy outcomes and legislative frameworks.
    o Work cover issues including legislative compliance, rehabilitation and return to work programs.
    o Early intervention strategies and processes regarding injury management prior to lodgement and acceptance of a
    workers compensation claim.
