The Department of Justice and Community Safety, is seeking a Manager, Workforce Services to provide a critical role within The Security and Emergency Services Group.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manager - Workforce Services is responsible for the SESG and Statewide training portfolios, and the workforce supporting services that ensures SESG delivers services effectively and efficiently. The position manages the SESG staff responsible for the coordination and delivery of training and will be required to lead the ongoing development and continuous improvement of training.
This role also oversees the Human Resources portfolio within SESG and manages the SESG team members responsible for the assignment of staff resources to SESG operations.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Prepare high-level strategic advice and briefings that integrate and synthesise information from varied sources to present options and recommendations to Corrections Victoria leadership and key stakeholders in relation to emerging, complex and sensitive matters.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of SESG’s state-wide training services.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement with payroll and Human Resources teams to ensure appropriate planning of rosters and day sheets.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated capacity to simultaneously lead and manage thedelivery of multiple complex project and business critical activities.
  • Demonstrated understanding and operational knowledge of the corrections operating environment, and key issues impacting the SESG.
  • Demonstrated understanding of rostering principles, workforce services and CV training requirements.
  • Proven application of advanced computer skills to complex word processing, spreadsheet, presentation or database functions
