Pier 2 Pier has an exciting opportunity to recruit a Leaving Care Manager overseeing 2 semi-independent service for young people aged 16-19 in Orpington and Eltham
This is an exciting time to join a leading and growing organisation that aims to provide a positive experience for young people with a variety of support needs to develop independence and individuality as they grow in confidence and fulfil their true potential.
As the Manager, with support from the service manager, you will oversee the daily running of the services, supporting the young people in their everyday activities throughout their journey to independence, as well as managing and encouraging a small team of support workers.
The role will require you to have previous experience supervising staff or leading a service as well as experience working with children or young people.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS TO EVIDENCE IN YOUR APPLICATION:

• At least 2 years’ experience in a service/team aimed at supporting children/young people.
• An in depth understanding of leaving care, how to support young people transition to independence and the issues they may face.
• Demonstrable record of good working practice with children & young people.
• Ability to build strong relationships with other social care professionals and housing associations.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
• Strong IT skills and the ability to accurately record information.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services; or equivalent or working towards it
