Under the direction of the Associate Vice-President, Facilities Management (AVP), the Managing Director, Facilities Development & Engineering and University Architect oversees all planning, design, and construction of campus facilities and lands, ensuring they align with the institution’s goals, aesthetics, and sustainability standards. The Managing Director will provide strategic leadership to a team of highly trained, skilled professionals responsible for supporting the deliverables of the Facilities Development & Engineering department.
As part of the Facilities Management Division leadership team, the Managing Director will collaborate with FM leadership to set standards, design principles and construction delivery to enable effective and safe operations. The Managing Director will oversee the development of multi-year development and capital improvement strategies. The Managing Director is accountable for leading planning activities supporting project design, aesthetics, campus land use, space planning, transportation planning and infrastructure planning. The role exists to influence, support, and implement the University’s Strategic, planning and sustainability strategies and Long-Range Space Plans and goals for institutional development through the physical environment and building resources of the University
