Aprio is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Managing Director of Business Development to support the Manufacturing and Distribution (M&D) Segment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and driving both direct and indirect new sales & partner channels by identifying, qualifying, and generating leads to support the growth of the M&D Segment. This individual will be responsible for driving business growth and expanding our client base by identifying new opportunities, fostering client relationships, and promoting our specialized tax services. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in advancing our firm’s mission to deliver exceptional tax solutions to our clients. You will gain an understanding of all the services and solutions our team provides, and sell these services through both direct relationships and sales channels. The ideal candidate will have developed, established, and provided their own robust network upon joining Aprio.
This individual will work closely with the Partners and the growth team to develop and execute strategies that increase the sales pipeline, expand our client base, enhance Aprio’s market recognition, and meet revenue targets. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication & presentation skills, the ability to work independently, and a strong desire to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – business-related field preferred; advanced degree is a plus.
  • 15+ years of established experience in building and maintaining a successful direct and indirect revenue generation program management as a Senior Business Development Director, Client Success Manager, or Senior Account Manager.
  • Geographic focus – domestic and national (U.S.); Travel required as necessary
  • Successful track record of both direct and indirect sales and channel development with monetization.
  • Proven track record of scaling and orchestrating channel operations at a senior level.
  • Strong cultivator of both prospects and channel partners and/or building pipeline.
  • Existing and established direct relationships and network channel partner relationships strongly preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and work cross-departmentally in a matrix environment
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, and able to work in a dynamic environment and industry.
  • Strong negotiator with excellent analytical skills.
  • Professional, with excellent oral, written and communication skills
  • Highly developed organizational and time management skills, with the ability to pull projects over the finish line.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex business relationships and driving successful programs.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple relationships and projects and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to translate data and clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to recipients in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
  • Highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build solid relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to quickly gain a deep understanding of Aprio service offerings, including understanding of deadlines and the sales process.
  • Demonstrated consistency in support of Aprio’s 31 Fundamentals aligning values, principles, and work ethic.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of new qualified business opportunities both direct and indirect, via lead generation through current and new prospects + channel partner relationships.
  • Develop and manage strategic segment sales pipelines to increase sales and market share through direct sales and partner channels.
  • Promote consistent collaboration and planning between partners, sales, audit services, marketing, and business development teams.
  • Establish and execute advanced segment sales strategies with sales management.
  • Manage and report on pipeline, progress towards both segment and firm-wide objectives and key results and provide strategic insights.
  • Oversee partner sales activities such as forecasting, marketing, and relationship development.
  • Collaborate with partners to identify leads and campaigns for closing new businesses.
  • Create and manage KPIs, metrics, dashboards, and performance accountability systems.
  • Meet and exceed monthly/quarterly/annual quotas.
  • Demonstrate initiative and leadership in a dynamic environment.
  • Work within a sales and support team structure for the achievement of client satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with company vision and values.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify new business opportunities.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance the firm’s visibility and reputation.
