Job Title: Managing Director, HEAD OF I&PF, UK & EUROPE
Location: London
Hours: Full Time
Working Pattern: Our working style is hybrid, which involves spending at least three days per week, or 60% of our time, at our London office.
About this opportunity
We’ve an outstanding opportunity for a recognised global leader to take charge of the UK’s leading Infrastructure and Project finance (I&PF) franchise, while developing our growth plans in mainland Europe and coordinating with our fast-growing US business.
This a high-profile leadership role, responsible for leading, developing and driving forward the I&PF growth strategy for the Bank. You’ll lead and oversee a team of I&PF specialists based in London who drive origination activities in sourcing, advising/structuring and implementing highly sophisticated structured project finance deals in all sectors (including inter alia; Transportation, Midstream, Renewables, Power, Digital Infrastructure, Regulated Utilities and Social Infrastructure).

Your responsibilities include:

  • Set the I&PF strategy and longer-term objectives by anticipating complex issues, challenges and opportunities
  • Drive the growth and development of the platform - enhancing our UK lending proposition; growing our UK advisory offering; and establishing our presence in Europe.
  • Partnering with our US team to ensure an aligned global I&PF growth strategy and a broad perspective on client coverage.
  • Accountable for driving the financial performance of the I&PF team, managing cost and FTE budget, driving efficiency and productivity
  • Lead, develop, mentor and grow a large team of professionals, ensuring high performance and continuous development
  • Oversee the origination and structuring of I&PF transactions that support the core LBG franchise, including Scottish Widows opportunities, providing a seamless client experience & ensuring full alignment with LBG strategy.
  • Build and maintain trust with our key partners, guaranteeing strong communication with Product Partners, Credit, Coverage, Asset Management, Legal, and Scottish Widows to align the strategy and business development work done within the I&PF business effectively.
  • Represent the franchise externally with clients, advisors, corporates and Government, developing positive relationships with I&PF sponsors/corporate entities.

What we need from you?

  • Extensive knowledge of the Infrastructure and Energy sector with a consistent track record in lending and advisory, matched with an outstanding UK transaction deal sheet. European transaction experience an advantage.
  • Deep experience in Advisory, including pitching and delivering scale advisory mandates, is an advantage as we seek to develop out our UK debt advisory capability in Project Finance.
  • Capital markets and distribution experience including syndicate Project Finance facilities, institutional partnerships and third party capital solutions.
  • Validated global leadership experience in the I&PF industry with experience of building effective teams
  • Outstanding network of contacts and strong rapport across the sector including Sponsors, Advisors, Banks, Institutional Investors.
  • Full knowledge and understanding of the structured finance market and different financing structures – Project Finance, WBS, Hybrid financing, Debt Capital Market offerings (Bond, USPP, ITL, Underwriting), PP (SW) and knowledge of Rates product (Swaps, FX)
