Our client is a long-established and multi-award winning national main contractor with offices throughout Ireland.
Renowned for the successful delivery of large-scale projects on time and on budget, they specialise in new build Commercial, Education, Healthcare & leisure Projects, ranging from £30M-300M in value.
Due to a number of contract wins for the company, they wish to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial activities on a £150M Commercial Project in Central Dublin
As a Tier 1 contractor, you will report to the Commercial Director and be supported by a two Project Surveyor, you will have a proven track record on planning, coordinating and reporting on all commercial activities in order to maximise profit.
The ideal candidate will have worked as the lead surveyor on similar projects and be able to influence the entire commercial approach to the benefit of the project.

Managing all commercial aspects of the project, responsibilities will include:

  • Cost control through efficient planning, forecasting and estimating
  • Valuations and Variations
  • Reviewing tenders
  • Procurement of sub-contractors, equipment and materials
  • Risk analysis
  • Dispute resolution
  • Regular reporting to directors and the client and preparing relevant documents

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management, including direct contact with clients
  • Ability to work to programmes and meet deadlines
  • A good understanding of the construction process from an operations perspective
  • Experience working as the commercial lead on €10m+ new build projects
  • A minimum of 10 years’ industry experience
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying
