Job Description
We seek an experienced and highly skilled Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of commercial management and quantity surveying for infrastructure maintenance projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and contractual compliance.
- Lead and manage a team of quantity surveyors, providing guidance and mentorship
- Develop and implement cost control strategies to maximize project profitability
- Prepare and analyze cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports
- Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, contractors, and suppliers
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential cost overruns
- Oversee the procurement process, including tender preparation and evaluation
- Provide expert advice on contractual claims and dispute resolution
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure project success
- Stay updated on industry trends, local regulations, and best practices in quantity surveying
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
- Professional certification from a recognized institution (e.g., RICS, AACE)
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects
- Experience in the Middle East construction market preferred
- Advanced knowledge of quantity surveying principles and practices
- Expertise in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis
- Strong contract management and procurement skills
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- In-depth knowledge of construction industry standards and practices
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in the UAE
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage and mentor a team of professionals
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
