Description

We’ve been roasting speciality coffee for over 30 years. From humble beginnings as a little coffee cart in Auckland, NZ, Allpress has evolved into a sophisticated brand that stands for flavour and service. Right from the start three core principles have formed the backbone of our business – People, Flavour and Innovation.
We are united in our genuine care for each other, our customers, and our belief in what we do. We need great people who will bring their imagination, skills and most importantly, their passion to our business.

Responsibilities

We are currently looking for an experienced Kitchen Leader to support our brand-new Manchester Café space. Leading the kitchen space in our new cafe, the Kitchen Leader oversees the smooth and quality operation of our kitchen as well as introducing some unique dishes to our menu.
Our Manchester café has a menu that is fresh and simple, consisting of delicious sandwiches, classic breakfast and lunch dishes and a selection of sweets and cakes. We will prepare most things on-site, in an open kitchen and using the best seasonal ingredients we can get our hands on. This role will involve creating a menu development plan in collaboration with the Café Manager to create new exciting dishes focusing on seasonality, quality and aligning with our Allpress food standards.
Previous kitchen experience is essential, as is attention to detail, high level of communication, a knack for multi-tasking and a willingness to get things done. Working in a café environment can be unpredictable, so being able to keep cool under pressure is a must.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure consistent high standards of food preparation and presentation e.g. sandwich making, baking, fresh juice preparation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in all interactions with customers, suppliers and colleagues .
  • Financial ownership eg. full menu costings, updating supplier costing, ensuring margins are met, offsetting ad hoc costs .
  • Setup, pack down, pot-wash and cleaning of food areas .
  • Calendari s ed development plan for food, looking ahead 6 months in line with our Allpress food standards and consideration for seasonality and quality .
  • Make sure any stock dates and orders are completed in a timely manner .
  • Ensure all Health and Safety requirements are maintained in the space .Support our Cafe Manager with ad hoc duties .
