ABOUT MANITOBA TIPI MITAWA INC.

Through a partnership by the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs and the Manitoba Real Estate Association (MREA), The Manitoba Tipi Mitawa Inc. (MTM) program helps eligible First Nations families achieve the goal of homeownership, by guiding and supporting them through education, financial assistance, and ongoing wrap-around support.
MTM is a registered charity dedicated to relieving poverty by managing a home ownership program for First Nations families in Manitoba. We work closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, financial institutions, and community organizations, to provide comprehensive support to our beneficiaries.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or degree in Social Services, Indigenous Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in intake coordination, case management, or client services.
  • Strong understanding of First Nations culture, community values, and lived realities in Manitoba.
  • Knowledge of housing programs, financial literacy, or Indigenous housing initiatives is an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while fostering teamwork and collaboration.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Program Intake Coordinator plays a key role in welcoming, guiding, and supporting First Nations applicants through the Manitoba Tipi Mitawa homeownership journey. This position is responsible for intake assessments, initial eligibility screening, and ongoing applicant support while ensuring respectful and culturally appropriate interactions at all stages.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all inquiries and applications related to the MTM program.
  • Filter and review applications, coordinate financial reviews with the lending institution, and identify suitable program participants.
  • Facilitates the program intake, house acquisitions, and coordinates financial literacy, home maintenance, and home purchase orientation training sessions.
  • MTM program inquiries: maintain a contact list for program intakes and handle inquiries via phone, email, and on the Monday.com platform.
  • MTM ongoing support: assists in tracking applicant progress, provides post-purchase guidance, and complies with any funders’ reporting requirements/audits.
  • Conduct follow-up intake interviews as necessary with prospective applicants to assess eligibility based on program criteria.
  • Provide clear, compassionate communication to applicants regarding the application process, required documentation, and next steps.
  • Maintain organized and confidential client files and update applicant data in the program management system.
  • Collaborate with financial literacy educators, and community partners to support a holistic intake experience.
