BSI services OEM's, aftermarket, and end users across the globe. We are seeking to hire a Manual Lathe Machinist with minimum a 3+ years of experience, to join us in machining metal parts such as steel, bronze, aluminum and babbitt. This type of manufacturing requires quick set-ups, precision execution, and attention to detail for success. Manual Lathe Machinist Job Responsibilities: Load and unload parts in and out of machine using overhead crane system when needed. Install tool holders and indicate parts. Verify first-run part(s) for acceptance. Inspect and change cutting inserts as needed. Hold tight tolerance up to +/-.0001". Measure work pieces for conformance to specification using measuring instruments such as but not limited to micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and gage pins. Adjust machine speeds and feed settings as needed for optimal performance. Must be able to interpret blueprints and have a clear understanding of geometric tolerances and surface finishes. Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Use of both hands to manually move parts and function equipment. The ability to speak clearly & communicate well with others. Basic math skills. Maintain safe operating practices and guidelines.
