MANUAL LATHE MACHINIST

Job Summary:
We’re seeking a skilled Manual Lathe Machinist to join our Aerospace team in North York, ON. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you’ll be responsible for setting up and operating manual lathes to precision-machine large castings into finished products. If you have a strong background in machining and a keen eye for detail, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

- - Set up and operate manual lathes (horizontal or vertical) to achieve precise specifications and tolerances.
- - Machine large castings into finished products, ensuring quality and precision in every component.
- Machining experience with high quality metals such as Inconel, Titanium, Aluminum, stainless steel
- Knowledge working with tight tolerances cylindrical parts of various lengths and wall thickness.

• Perform a variety of machining operations, including:

• • Threading: creating precise threads on workpieces
• 
  
• Radius: machining curved surfaces to precise specifications

• 
  
• Linear: machining straight surfaces and edges

• 
  
• Taper: machining tapered surfaces and components

• 
  
• Chamfer: creating angled edges and surfaces

• • Deburring: removing excess material and smoothing out surfaces

• Utilize a range of tools and equipment, including:

• • Surface grinders: precision-grinding surfaces to exact specifications
• 
  
• Radial drills: drilling precise holes and surfaces

• 
  
• Drill presses: drilling accurate holes in workpieces

• 
  
• Gun drills: deep-hole drilling and machining

Requirements:

- - Proven experience working with manual lathes (horizontal or vertical)
- - Strong machining skills and attention to detail
- - Ability to work in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment
