Description • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and router instructions • Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements. • Setup and machine parts to blueprints and/or work instructions • Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines. • Act as in process inspector where required • Cross train in other areas of machines shop • Generate Non-conforming Material Reports as needed. • Maintain a safe and clean work environment • Communicate issues to supervisor • Perform basic preventative maintenance on Lathe equipment. • Monitor consumable supply levels and communicate shortages • Performs daily and regular cleaning on machinery and equipment. • Provides unbiased, proactive feedback to Engineering/Programming for process improvements. • Must adhere to & support safe work environment policies & 6S & lean manufacturing principles. • Ability to work OT as needed to support the business (includes weekends) Competencies Needed for Success: • Teamwork Orientation. • Time Management. • Performance Management. • Results Driven. • Strong problem-solving skills. Requirements • High School Diploma / GED • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and work instructions • Ability to stand for extended periods of time • Ability to maintain tolerances of .001 inch. • Basic math skills • Proficient with hand tools • Effective communication skills • Proficient in use of precision measuring tools • Minimum 10 years’ manual lathe experience • Minimum 10 years’ experience machining exotic metals • Minimum 10 years’ Aerospace experience The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.
