Description
Aircraft Technology, Inc., (ATI), a subsidiary of HEICO Corporation, is an FAA/EASA Part 145 Repair Station. ATI supports a wide range of rotary and fixed wing components found on both commercial and military platforms around the world.   The Manual Machinist I performs basic machining operations and assists with machine setups to produce aviation components that meet dimensional and quality specifications. This position continues to develop machining skills while supporting production activities.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Operate manual machines such as engine lathes, mills, grinders, or similar equipment. * Perform basic machine setups under supervision. * Mount, align, and secure tools, fixtures, and workpieces on machines. * Measure finished workpieces using precision measuring instruments. * Replace worn cutting tools and adjust speeds and feeds as required. * Stop machines to remove finished parts or change tooling and setups. * Follow router instructions and work instructions for machining operations. * Perform deburring and finishing operations. * Maintain machines, tooling, and work area organization. * Move materials, tools, and fixtures as required to support production flow. * Follow safety procedures and quality standards. * Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION: * High school diploma or GED equivalent. * Technical machining training preferred.   EXPERIENCE: * 1--3 years of machining or manufacturing experience.   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES: * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Ability to communicate orally and in writing. * Ability to read basic drawings and work instructions. * Familiarity with precision measuring instruments. * Basic understanding of machining principles, including speeds and feeds. * Mechanical problem-solving ability.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, squat, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May work with toxic or caustic chemicals.   WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and sometimes excessive.
