Ozark Aeroworks LLC (OZARK) is the OZARK Model T53 Engine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). OZARK also provides full maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO)—including fuel accessories, machining, and welding capabilities, providing for fast shop component repairs. The OEM and MRO businesses are located in our Springfield, MO facility. OZARK’s primary MRO product lines include the T53 Engine, T53 fuel controls and governors, and Rolls-Royce M250 Engine (specifically the C47, C30, and C20 models). As the OEM, OZARK is a full-service provider of new parts, MRO, and engineering services.
OZARK is the respected leader of the T53 Engine, known for its overall MRO capabilities and high level of customer commitment. OZARK is committed to delivering high-quality products and services to our clients worldwide, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations and industry standards.
To help us continue growing, we are seeking a motivated Machinist to join our highly skilled team. This position will report directly to the T53 RO Program Manager.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Consistently produce high-quality, precise parts that meet specifications.
  • Maintain compliance with drawings, repair manuals, and applicable standards.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and efficiency.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical training or certification in Machining Technology preferred
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5-6 years’ experience in a machine shop setting
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and applying GD&T
  • Skilled use of inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.)
  • General computer knowledge required
  • Preferred: Aerospace machining background, 3D modeling/CAD experience, CNC machining (Including EDM), and Tool and Die background
  • Must successfully pass two proficiency exams as part of the hiring process

COMPENSATION

  • $27 - $34 hourly dependent on level of experience, level of competence, and/or past performance.

Responsibilities

JOB FUNCTION / PURPOSE

The Machinist will be responsible for performing highly skilled machining work in a precision shop environment. This includes the setup and operation of manual and CNC equipment, fabrication of precision parts, and verification of dimensional accuracy using advanced inspection tools. The Machinist will play a key role in supporting both OEM and MRO operations by delivering high-quality work in compliance with technical standards.
It is expected that this position will be actively engaged in the following:

PRIMARY ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up and operate general tool room equipment, including milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, and related machinery.
  • Machine precision parts and components to exact tolerances.
  • Read, interpret, and apply blueprints, technical drawings, and repair manuals.
  • Apply knowledge of GD&T to ensure dimensional compliance.
  • Utilize inspection equipment such as OD micrometers, depth micrometers, dial calipers, vernier calipers, and dial indicators to verify dimensions.
  • Perform advanced machining tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and part history as required.
  • Perform general machine maintenance and report equipment needs.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and peers to meet production goals.
