Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mid-Level Manual QA Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in manual testing and experience ensuring the quality of software applications. This role involves working on moderately complex projects, collaborating with development and business teams, and contributing to the creation and execution of test cases to deliver high-quality software.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and execute detailed test cases and test scripts based on business requirements and functional specifications.
  • Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using bug-tracking tools, ensuring clear communication with development teams.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
  • Verify that software meets quality standards and adheres to requirements before release.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and defect reports.
  • Participate in requirement reviews to provide feedback on testability and quality.
  • Support post-release validation and assist with troubleshooting production issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in manual software testing.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience with creating and executing test cases, test plans, and defect reports.
  • Familiarity with bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
  • Basic knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing processes.
  • Proficiency with tools like Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for documentation purposes.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to identify edge cases.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of relational databases and ability to write simple SQL queries for data validation.
  • Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr).
  • Exposure to web or mobile application testing.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $70,000.00 per year
