This role will assist with shop organization, material prep, equipment build  support, basic fabrication tasks, painting, and general maintenance to keep workflows moving smoothly and  safely. This is an entry to mid-level position ideal for someone who enjoys working with tools, learning  shop processes, and contributing to quality builds.  Key Areas of ResponsibilityShop Operations SupportMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Perform routine shop cleanup and housekeeping throughout the shift Assist with tool organization and basic shop maintenance tasks Material Prep & Handling  Cut and prepare material for machining and fabrication jobs Measure, mark, and layout material using a tape measure and basic measuring tools Move materials and equipment using a forklift as needed Assembly & Build Support  Assist with machine builds and equipment assembly Support technicians by staging materials, organizing components, and preparing parts Help with hardware installation, basic fitting, and assembly work Fabrication & Finishing  Drill and tap holes accurately based on direction or printsPerform basic welding tasks as required Prep surfaces and perform painting of parts and equipment Ability to embody and reflect Avery Dennison’s core values QualificationsBasic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure Understanding of how to drill holes and tap threads Basic experience with painting and surface prep Ability to safely operate a forklift Ability to perform welding (basic to intermediate skill level)Preferred Qualifications:  Experience working in a machining shop, fabrication shop, or industrial environmentFamiliarity with shop tools, grinding, deburring, and material preparation Experience assisting with custom machine builds or equipment assembly Physical DemandsThe Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job in a manufacturing environment. Ability to stand and work on your feet for over 75% of the time on a daily basis Ability to work from Standing, Kneeling and stooping positions.Ability to lift 50 pounds with full range of motion and carry materials (within safe shop limits) Comfortable working in a shop environment around machines, tools, noise, and fumes (PPE provided/required) Management reserves the right to revise, change or modify the duties and responsibilities of this position at any time to meet business and organizational needs.
