Job Description Location: Niles, IL | Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) | Pay: $24.16/hr Are you a detail-oriented maker who takes pride in precision? Avery Dennison is looking for a Manufacturing Belt Specialist to join our Tooling Group. In this role, you aren’t just running a machine; you are a "Precision Builder" responsible for the craftsmanship and quality of essential industrial components. What You’ll Do Day-to-Day: Build & Refine: Perform end-to-end assembly of specialized belts following strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You will use an electrochemical process to manufacture high quality optical toolings. Safety & Compliance: Maintain a "Safety-First" environment by strictly adhering to chemical handling protocols and consistently wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure a zero-incident workplace. Quality Control: Conduct visual inspections and use lab equipment to ensure every product meets our "zero-defect" goal. Logistics Support: Prepare, clean, and pack finished belts for secure shipment. Qualifications What You Bring to the Team: Technical Aptitude: You have a high school diploma (or GED) or 3+ years of manufacturing experience. Prior mechanical or electrical skills are a plus. Computer Literacy: Comfortable using Excel, Word, and production software to log data. Physical Agility: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout your shift. Safety Mindset: An unwavering commitment to safety; you view PPE and safety policies as core values and serve as a role model for your peers in a high-precision chemical environment.
