Be More Than a Number Cruncher, Be a Business Partner! Cosmos is looking for their next ideal team player to join the Finance Team as the Manufacturing Cost Accountant. At Cosmos, finance isn’t just about reporting numbers, it’s about influencing decisions, guiding operational efficiency, and helping us grow profitably. As a Manufacturing Cost Accountant, you’ll play a key role in connecting our production floor to our financial results, ensuring our leadership team has the insight needed to optimize costs, drive margin, and scale our business. Requirements Serve as the finance partner to operations, translating production data into financial insights. Own Cosmos costing processes: standard costing, job costing, re-rolls, reconciliations. Prepare and record financial transactions related to inventory, COGS, and eliminations. Provide clear analysis of trends, variances, and risks to help leadership make informed decisions. Establish and maintain GAAP -compliant accounting policies and internal controls. Lead and monitor physical inventory counts and accuracy of item costing. Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process for inventory and operations. Support the external audit process. Work cross-functionally with other teams to provide your finance expertise and support. Other tasks as assigned. Competencies & Skills Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, retail inventory accounting, or manufacturing finance. Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost allocation methods. Advanced skills in Excel; experience with Power BI or BI tools is a plus. A proactive communicator with analytical and critical thinking skills Bonus: Experience in a manufacturing or production environment will make you stand out.
