Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Helix Linear Technologies is looking for a hands-on, curious, and collaborative Cost Accountant to support job costing, margin analysis, and accounts payable in a growing, fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who wants to learn and contribute across departments, from finance to production. You won’t be sitting behind a screen all day, you’ll be moving around the shop floor, asking questions, understanding the “why” behind the numbers, and helping the business make smarter decisions.
You’ll report directly to the Controller and work closely with our CFO, Accounting Manager, and cross-functional teams to make sure jobs are costed correctly, margins are understood, and we’re catching potential issues early. Your work will directly impact our ability to improve profitability, fix problems quickly, and grow more efficiently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cost Accounting & Inventory Analysis
  • Review and close production jobs daily to ensure costs are accurate and timely.
  • Analyze variances and job profitability, identify jobs over budget and partner with production to understand root causes.
  • Assist with cost rolls, BOM creation, and standard cost updates.
  • Ensure inventory costing is accurate; support weekly cycle counts and monthly physical inventory processes.
  • Gross Margin & Profitability Insights
  • Complete monthly gross margin analysis by customer, part, and product group.
  • Provide cost visibility to sales and leadership to help improve pricing and quoting decisions.
  • Help identify trends, cost drivers, and opportunities to improve margins.
  • Accounts Payable
  • Enter vendor invoices and perform 3-way matching to validate purchases.
  • Work with Purchasing and Receiving to resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with vendor payments and communications as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Support
  • Collaborate with Sales, Production, Engineering, and Purchasing to investigate cost issues and recommend solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement of cost and AP processes.
  • Participate in month-end close and special projects as needed.
