Description

Catalyx is seeking a Manufacturing Data Integration Engineer to play a key role in bridging industrial automation systems with enterprise data environments. This role focuses on designing, configuring, and implementing data models and integration templates using the HighByte Intelligence Hub, in alignment with a Unified Namespace (UNS) architecture. The engineer will standardize data collection from various automation systems, manage the contextualization of that data, and ensure structured delivery into MS SQL databases for long-term archival, reporting, and analytics.

  • Creation of reusable templates to define the data collection from the following UNS specifications (defined as MQTT payload formats, topic structures, and interaction diagrams) on the HighByte Intelligence Hub Integration Platform.
  1. Process Data
  2. Alarm Data
  3. Recipe Setup and Context via MES
  4. Batch Execution Data
  5. Operator Actions
  6. Equipment Events

  7. Other as required for data management and integrity

  • Support the population of the UNS HighByte templates, adapt and modify as new process equipment is commissioned.
  • Create the final HighByte configuration.
  • Definition and delivery of MS SQL database schema for permanent archival of UNS events.
  • Implementation of HighByte Intelligence Hub Pipelines for data collection from the UNS and population of the MS SQL database(s), documentation and validation.
  • Qualification of the HighByte Intelligence Platform, MS SQL Database, the Edge of Network Device and any other platform components are Out of Scope.
  • These will be applied to process automation systems in the Drug Substance area, the Drug Product area, and Utilities for commercial-of-the-shelf (COTS) systems.
  • Implementation of the UNS specifications is out of scope within site custom developed automation solutions as they are not using HighByte.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Experience with HighByte Intelligence Hub, including template creation and configuration
  • Strong understanding of MQTT protocols, UNS architecture, and industrial data models
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing MS SQL Server schemas and stored procedures
  • Proficiency in developing data pipelines and integrations between edge platforms and enterprise systems
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing systems, including MES, batch systems, and COTS platforms
  • Strong documentation and validation support skills, preferably in regulated industries
Responsibilities
  • Creation of reusable templates to define the data collection from the following UNS specifications (defined as MQTT payload formats, topic structures, and interaction diagrams) on the HighByte Intelligence Hub Integration Platform
