Description As a Manufacturing Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing and overseeing the development of new products. You will need to be able to multitask between multiple projects and be able to switch gears when priorities change. Will need to work with manufacturing on any potential design changes to existing products or processes. Qualifications Solidworks: 3-5 years (Required) AutoCAD: 1-2 Years (Preferred) Product development: 3 years (Preferred) Bachelor's (Preferred) EXPERIENCE & SKILLS 3-5 years of progressive product design & development Extremely detail orientated & ability to multi-task Advanced experience with product design and part development utilizing Solidworks Knowledge of Solidworks Driveworks is a plus but not a requirement. Strong Excel working knowledge is required Working knowledge of 3D printer operation is a plus but not a requirement Working knowledge of multi-level Bill of Materials including development and maintenance highly preferred Deadline driven & able to manage time effectively & prioritize tasks Excellent oral, written, and numerical skills Independent thinker & ability to work within & build strong teams Highly self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced, growing company Solid experience in Project Management Bachelor’s degree and formal design certification(s) preferred Knowledge of Fiberglass, especially closed mold fiberglass is highly preferred but not required. Knowledge of mold design and development is preferred but not required Knowledge of plastics and plastics mold design is highly preferred but not required Working knowledge of hunting activities and tactics is highly preferred A portfolio showcasing some design work is a plus Duties and Responsibilities Create drawings/designs for potential projects Create detailed part/piece drawings for manufacturing and QC validation Create carton labels and instruction sheets for new products and update existing Create product designs that optimize manufacturability Design and engineer products including material sourcing, manufacturing, CAD documentation, BOM, parts, product testing, and implementation Work with the design/engineering team members to "clearly" define product concept design and identify product design and manufacturing process alternatives Lead prototyping activities to deliver viable samples Determine nature of technical problems and possible solutions, such as product redesign, the substitution of material or parts, or rearrangements of parts of subassemblies Identify and implement ways to improve design to the manufacturing process Work on new processes in manufacturing Work with manufacturing & vendors on any possible part redesigns to help with any manufacturing problems Job Type: Full-time Salary: Based on experience Benefits: 401(k) matching Dental insurance Flexible spending account Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off ESOP Retirement plan Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday
