  JOB PURPOSE   The Manufacturing Design Technician will collaborate with manufacturing process engineers to transform product design into working documentation on new and existing products. Provide and maintain an experienced level of drafting and overall document control. Along with any necessary support required by the manufacturing process and development of machined components   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   * Translate sketches, specifications, and ideas into detailed drawings based on project requirements. * Support Manufacturing Process with document control, including but not limited to Quality Assurance and Production. * Communicate with outside vendors and customers when necessary. * Working in a team setting to conceptualize design intentions.  * Keep current on all things pertaining to job functions and ability to perform at highest level. * Organize and maintain CAD files and project documentation, and update drawings with any revisions or changes throughout the project. * Data collection and organization to aid in the company’s initiative to improve process, reduce scrap, etc. * All other duties, as assigned.   QUALIFICATIONS   Degree and/or Certification in 3D CAD Software (SolidWorks). Relevant experience and job history may be considered in lieu of formal education credentials.   * Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred.) * Working knowledge of basic inspection equipment. * Ability to read and understand blueprint drawings including GD&T. * Knowledge of basic cutting tools and performance. * Familiar with Microsoft Office Products. * Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.   WORKING CONDITIONS   * Must be able to maintain a stationary position for the entire shift. * Must be able to work shift hours and days as assigned. * Exposure to the following work environment: * High noise levels from machinery. * Breathing fumes, dust, and mist. * Skin exposed to oils and cutting fluids. * Must wear personal protection equipment as required including, but not limited to, hearing protection, non-slip shoes, safety glasses.     PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS   * Sitting for extended periods of time * Occasionally lifting up to 50lbs   DIRECT REPORTS   Not Applicable.   Must be at least 18 years old.  Export Control Compliance Notice This position may involve access to technology or software source code subject to U.S. export control laws (ITAR/EAR).
