JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer 4
LOCATION: IL-Peoria [ON SITE]

JOB DESCRIPTION/TYPICAL TASK BREAKDOWN:

  • As a Manufacturing Engineer you will function as a specialist within the Peoria Proving Ground ecosystem. Work assignments may be specialized in nature but may also be broad based with coordination between other staff personnel to complete projects

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform Safety Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (SFMEA) for existing and new shop processes.

  • Develop detailed work instructions for existing and improved shop processes.
  • Train new experimental mechanics and develops training programs to ensure functional expertise is achieved.
  • Engage in creative problem solving to address operational issues including ergonomic/ safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, quality concerns.
  • Work with operations leaders and machine engineers to develop and manage projects that ensure efficient and cost-effective systems and processes are in place to produce quality service for machine product groups.
  • Provide manufacturing technical support in process control and safety.
  • Coordinate the purchase and application of machine tools, controls and related equipment corporate wide to ensure the latest technology is being used to increase efficiency and safety of operations.
  • Design complex or intricate jigs and fixtures.
  • Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc. in performing assigned duties.

Work environment:
- Mixture - when writing procedures/SFMEA, policy, etc that will be in the office, but in order to get input that will be in the shop or field
Estimated 50/50 split
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical engineering or another technical or engineering discipline. 8 or more years related experience required.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Computer skills: MS365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.)

DESIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:



    • Problem-solving (8D, Root Cause Analysis )

    • Effective communications, verbal and written communication skills
    • Prioritizing and Multitasking tasks as assigned
    • Ability to read blueprint, drawings with emphasis on GD&T
    • Leading multi-functional team meetings ( engineering/supplier/receiving facility )
    • Analytical mindset with proficiency in Microsoft software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power BI)
    • Previous experience with machining, foundry, casting, forging or plastic molding processes
