Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Manufacturing Engineers provide effective and timely day to day support to all operations modules. Acting as a focal point for technical support initiatives, DFM/DFA and SPC analysis focusing on sustaining and improving operational effectiveness of both current and future operational requirements.
- Is the focal for Operations managers and Engineering interfacing with company technical experts, Programs, Quality and Supply Chain.
- Supports internal and outsourced operations for SEPUK acting as a focal for the sharing and development of best practice across the site and division as appropriate
- No budget responsibility but influences and inputs to capital expenditure decisions and OPEX recommendations
- Support construction of module based strategic road maps proposing and justifying capital (machines, tooling, gauging and plant) investment.
- Initiate, develop and execute process improvement (problem solving and technical innovation), through effective PFMEA assessment, championing effective industrialisation of product, tools, machinery and process
- Lead process variation reduction activity and test yield improvement activities across operations (SPC)
- Lead technical investigations through QRQC ensuring and implementing robust root cause analysis results and effective corrective / preventative actions
- Responsible to create,

- Responsible to create, validate and maintain production layouts, standard operations & other configuration documents across the business
- Construct and issue manufacturing instructions (Layouts, etc.) and technical investigation reports / QRQC’s
- Maintain special to process tool library, ensuring tool health is monitored and managed.
- Conduct and initiate actions resulting from ergonomic reviews and risk assessments
- Pro-actively engage with Engineering, Programs, Quality, Operations and Supply Chain teams when leading or supporting process based technical investigations, problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective / preventative action delivery.
- Have a detailed working knowledge of Safran Electrical & Power products, manufacturing process, assembly methods and test requirements.
- At all times throughout the production process facilitate and provide effective technical support to internal and outsourced operations as required
- Identify opportunity for process improvement – Initiating corrective and preventative actions
- Provide operator training as required
- Will be assigned to NPI projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Experience of working within a complex and dynamic component manufacturing engineering environment with NPI and continuous improvement experience preferred
- Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in mechanical, electronics or production engineering
- Proven ability to lead technical investigations, engaging with multi- functional problem solving workshops.
- Good analytical approach to problem solving
- Ability to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels
- Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and customers (internal / external)
- Understanding of Statistical Process Control, Process FMEA’s, and Lean Manufacturing preferred
- An ability to produce concise reports and effective presentations.
- Has a working knowledge of legislative requirements including REACH,HSE and DSEAR
- Computer Literate (MS Office).
- Must be able to lead and work effectively with a multi-disciplined team to tight deadlines
- Evidence of written English at interview stage. This will be through providing certification of a formal English or technical qualification studied in the UK or overseas in English. If this cannot be provided you will be required to complete and pass an online SHL English comprehension test as part of the interview process.
